The Meaning of Hana-zukushi — A Medley of Flowers
Motifs combining many different flowers together, known as Hana-zukushi in Japanese textile tradition, have long been treasured for their expression of abundance, variety, and the fleeting beauty of each season gathered into one design. Rather than a single flower, this piece brings together layered peony-like blossoms, small chrysanthemum-style flowers, and delicate berries — a wish for a rich and varied life.

Vintage Kimono × Contemporary Elegance
This piece has been created from an authentic vintage Japanese kimono, giving a treasured textile from the past a new life as a contemporary hijab. The patterned vintage kimono fabric is carefully sewn together with a specially selected lightweight moss green chiffon/georgette fabric to create one continuous square piece. Unlike our long rectangular shawls, this square hijab is designed to be folded corner-to-corner into a triangle and draped over the head and shoulders, allowing the richly patterned kimono fabric to elegantly frame the back and shoulders while the moss green fabric creates soft, flowing coverage.

Vintage kimono textiles are limited, and every section of a kimono has its own unique pattern placement. For this reason, this piece is ONE OF A KIND. Once sold, the exact same combination of textile, pattern placement, and design cannot be reproduced.

The patterned section is made using authentic vintage Japanese kimono fabric, believed to contain silk; however, because it is a vintage textile, the exact fiber composition cannot be verified. Subtle variations or small signs of age may be present and reflect the individuality of the original kimono.

The moss green fabric has been specially selected for everyday comfort: soft and gentle against the skin with a silky-smooth hand feel that belies its lightweight construction, wonderfully breathable with a cool, refreshing touch, moisture-wicking and quick-drying to keep you comfortable throughout the day, and naturally resistant to wrinkling — so it stays effortlessly elegant whether you're stepping out in the morning or into the evening.
